After Dinner Speaker“For Crying Out Loud!”
David’s humorous costumed presentation about the life
of a town crier
David’s favourite role is that of after dinner
speaker. Resplendent in Regency costume, he tells the tales that arise from
his colourful profession. From the first moment that guests arrive, and are
greeted with Regency-style gallantry by the splendidly-attired Crier, they
sense this is going to be a genuinely “different” occasion.
“A great pleasure to enjoy entertainment which
is original, witty and inoffensive” reported one organisation of David’s
performance. Another wrote, “The talk was not only a visual delight,
but was truly thrilling as he held the audience spellbound at every word.”
David has been invited to speak about his experiences
as a Town Crier to audiences all over Britain as well as in Canada and the
U.S.A.
David was placed third in the 1999 World Town Crier Championship held on Vancouver Island, Canada. He is the winner of two public speaking trophies, and a national finalist in the Association of Speakers Clubs’ Competition.
David has many TV and film appearances to his credit. He was the Town Crier in Granada TV’s Moll Flanders’ with Alex Kingston, and in ‘24 HourParty People’ with Steve Coogan. His unusual occupation has been the subject of a documentary screened three times on Japanese television.
If originality, wit, audience engagement and continuous
laughter are your requirements, David will be just the speaker for you.
A bulging file of appreciative letters gives eloquent evidence of delighted audiences:
“a brilliant and very witty speech” …
“a really professional performance and so much appreciated”
“an unforgettable afternoon of brilliant entertainment”
“everyone left in a very happy mood”
“absolutely wonderful!”
Why not see, hear and experience for yourself what hundreds of audiences have already discovered?
